The Spring Valley Debate Team is regularly rated among the top five of all competing teams at the annual Rockland County Championships.

The co-ed sports program at Spring Valley (as well as East Ramapo's) includes practically every sport conceivable, with the two schools' combined total of 22 teams. Nine East Ramapo's sports teams have been honored by the state of New York as having scholar-athletes since their combined grade point averages are at or above 90%.

There has been coverage of the Macrobiotics program in the media, namely on television and in the press.

My work got me to the second round of the Intel Science Talent Search. Research competition and a finalist in the Ron Brown competition.

In the Science Olympiad competition for the area, Spring Valley placed in the top 10 overall.

The earliest location of Spring Valley High School was on Main Street, which is now known as Route 45, in Spring Valley, New York. It was renamed Spring Valley Junior High while a brand new high school on Route 59 opened its doors. Students with excellent academic records were asked to assist in making the change go off without a hitch. The region's population increased, resulting in the construction of both the Spring Valley Junior High School and the Spring Valley Senior High School.

(Spring Valley Junior High School is located in present-day Chestnut Ridge, New York, and renamed "Chestnut Ridge Middle School," and Spring Valley Senior High School is located at its present-day address).

Mid-Summer Update on New Floors

This summer, the flooring in four of their school buildings, namely Pomona Middle School, Elmwood Elementary School, Kakiat STEAM Academy/ECC, and Margetts Elementary, is being replaced. Previous progress looks fantastic. The removal of the old flooring, the safe removal and disposal of asbestos, the grinding down of the surface, the application of a self-leveling solution, and, as a final step, the installation of the brand-new, gleaming flooring are all required procedures in this process. An occasional floor strip features the school color of each participating institution, so fostering a sense of school pride.

In addition, throughout the next several months, new kitchen hoods will be installed on these campuses and Chestnut Ridge Middle School and Hempstead Elementary School.

The American Rescue Plan Elementary and Secondary Emergency Relief Fund (ARP-ESSER) is responsible for funding these facility improvement projects. This fund has provided East Ramapo with the Federal funding necessary to improve instructional and non-instructional spaces throughout the district. During the summer of 2023, further construction and enhancement projects for schools in Eldorado, Fleetwood, Grandview, Lime Kiln, and Summit are scheduled to take place and will be supported by these monies. Jacobs Construction, the construction management business employed by the district, has just offered a helpful update on the renovations. Read more about the development of the master project; the construction management company Jacobs Construction has supplied the update. On page 3 of the report, there is a grid that provides a comprehensive overview of the multi-year project!

The Town of East Ramapo is still dedicated to ensuring that all residents have continued access to high-quality programs and services. The recent improvements to the town's infrastructure are another step toward achieving this objective. The progress made to their schools' infrastructure is having a significant impact on the learning environment. This autumn, they cannot contain their excitement about East Ramapo kids returning to their newly renovated classrooms.

Summer Bridge Freshman Academy Keeping Rockland Beautiful

The next first-year class at East Ramapo High School has been beneficial in maintaining the cleanliness of their county parks. They arranged to meet Ms. Natalie Patasaw from Keep Rockland Beautiful during the last week of the Summer Bridge Freshman Academy so that they could participate in the fantastic cleaning that took place at Spring Valley Memorial Park. They were anxious to search the whole park for garbage and debris, and they came prepared with gloves, grabbers, garbage bags, and recycle bags. The search was started after a short lecture on the significance of eliminating waste from the environment.

Highlights from the Fine & Performing Arts Academy's Expanded School Year (ESY)

Program

Their Fine & Performing Arts Academy offers an Expanded School Year (ESY) Program this summer. Participants may participate in various creative outlets, including art, dance, theater, photography, chorus, band, and orchestra. Students at East Ramapo read poems with a theatrical focus, produce creative masterpieces, learn new dances, musical groups, and acting skills, and study new musical ensembles. In addition to classes focusing on developing student's creative abilities, they also include art elements into their curriculum to help students improve their academic skills.

Each week, the younger performers get their big chance to perform on the stage where they've been developing their skills in front of the whole school population.
